  • 3-5 years need 10-13 hours
  • 6-13 years need 9-11 hours
  • 14-17 years need to 8-10 hours

Poor sleep can affect concentration, moods and behaviour. Below are some simple yet effective sleep encouragement strategies:

  •  Create a bedtime routine and stick to it.
  •  Create a sleep friendly environment; dark, quiet, cool.
  •  Limit screen time to at least 1 hour before sleep.
  •  No caffeine or sugary drinks in the afternoon.
  •  Include quiet activities such as reading or listening to soft music.
