Understanding Psoriatic Arthritis - It's important to recognize it early
Did you know psoriatic arthritis (PsA) can begin in childhood? Although it is especially common for persons aged 30-50 years, psoriatic arthritis is chronic, autoimmune disease, and is related to psoriasis (a skin disease that is characterized by red, scaly patches). PsA is not a skin disease, it is inflammation of the joints, which can also present with stiffness, pain, and in some cases, permanent damage to the joints if left untreated.
At Appin Medical Centre we believe in proactive healthcare. PsA can be confused with other forms of arthritis, so finding a solution is crucial for early detection. Although symptoms may come and go, we believe regular checkups and tailored treatment approach greatly improve quality of life.
We have a new blog now live on "Prognosis of Psoriatic Arthritis", where we break down all symptoms, diagnosis, and management approaches.
